Death Valley Ranch Garage/Long Shed/Bunkhouse
The Death Valley Ranch garage was designed in 1922 by ranch owner Albert Mussey Johnson himself. The bunkhouse and “long shed” were added to the garage in response to the need for additional living and work space as the ranch grew.
The resulting “L”-shaped structure would fit well in a corner, or could be divided into two or three separate structures.
Smith-Sherlock General Store
The Smith-Sherlock store, erected in 1898, is the longest operating store and U.S. Post Office in South Pass City, Wyoming.
Other than the addition of electricity, and internal modifications of shelving and storage due to its constant use as a retail store, few changes have been made to the structure.
Hye, Texas Post Office and General Store
The post office and general store in President Lyndon Johnson’s hometown of Hye, Texas, built in 1904, is a one-story frame structure clad in metal siding pressed to resemble stonework.
